Try using acslx.com. It’s easier to use and more flexible. The support is fantastic and very affordable.

Thanks for the comment. It’s been in the back of my mind all week to get started with Sage, I think that it’s high time that I just did it. I’ll be sure to post my experiences when I do get started, and thanks for the tip on the tech support as well!

I encourage you to try Sage, and blog about your experiences. The scipy and numpy components can probably do a lot of what you want, but we need more people like you to give it a try so we can figure out where it most needs to be improved.
Posting to the google-group sage-support is also good for getting tech support on Sage.
